The Sigenergy app explained: what mySigen shows and how AI mode works

The Sigenergy app is called mySigen, and it is how you see and steer a Sigenergy system from your phone: where your solar is going and how the battery is being run.

This guide works through the app section by section, Sigen AI Mode included. We describe the screens in words rather than screenshots, because Sigenergy redesigns them as the app updates. Every detail comes from Sigenergy’s own manual, datasheets, warranty and press releases and its official App Store and Google Play listings, checked on 2 November 2026. For the hardware itself, see our work as a Sigenergy installer.

What the Sigenergy app is, and where to get it

mySigen is published by Sigenergy Technology Co., Ltd. It is listed as free on Apple’s App Store, for iPhone and iPad on iOS 15.5 or later, and it is on Google Play for Android. Sigenergy’s listing promises “real-time energy monitoring, enriched data graphs, and an array of advanced features”, and installers use the same app to commission and check systems.

  • Current version: 4.2.0 on the App Store, released on 27 October 2026.
  • Languages: English and 17 more.
  • Other ways in: Sigenergy’s installer manual (version 02, April 2024) also describes a web version and apps for Mac and Windows.
  • Updates: frequent, so leave automatic updates switched on.

Setting up your owner account

You don’t create the system yourself. When the installer creates it in the app, Sigenergy’s installer manual says, “The App will send the owner account to the owner’s email address.” You then activate it within 24 hours from an email titled “sigencloud”. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder. If the 24 hours pass, the installer can send the activation again.

At handover, we show you how the system works and how to follow it in the app, so have your phone with you and know which email address you want the account under. The manual’s “App Setting” screen also offers dark mode, a choice of language and a temperature unit.

The home screen: your energy flow at a glance

The 2024 manual shows an energy flow chart under a “System” tab, and selecting a device in it, such as the battery, opens its details, including its software version. Sigenergy quotes a 10-second data refresh for its systems.

Recent versions added a lot here, mostly in version 4.0, which reached the App Store in July 2026:

  • Forecasts. Solar generation, household consumption and battery state of charge (how full it is), now for every system. Since version 4.0.2 you can show or hide them on the home chart.

  • “How System Works”. A redesigned explanation of how and why your system is running the way it is.

  • Weather. Local conditions shown with 3D effects.

  • Shutdown reasons. Since version 3.2.2 (November 2025), the specific reason for a system shutdown shows on the home page.

Operating modes, and what each one does

The operating mode decides when the battery charges, when it discharges and where spare solar goes. The April 2024 manual lists four. It also says the settings on offer depend on your system’s grid code, so names and options can differ by country and app version.

ModeWhat it does, in Sigenergy’s terms
Sigen AI ModeLearns your electricity use and local electricity prices, then plans how to run the system to keep costs down
Maximum Self-ConsumptionSolar runs the house first, spare solar charges the battery and anything left goes to the grid; the battery covers the house when solar falls short
Fully Feed-in to GridPuts export first: the inverter runs at full output, the battery stores any solar above that and tops the output up when solar is low or at night
TOU ModeYou set the charge and discharge periods yourself, such as charging from the grid when electricity is cheap at night

TOU stands for time of use. One detail catches people out: outside the periods you set, the manual says solar powers the house and charges the battery, but “the battery pack will not discharge”. Miss out your evening window and the battery can sit full while you buy from the grid.

How Sigen AI Mode decides what to do

In Sigen AI Mode, the manual says, “the system records data such as electricity usage and local peak-valley electricity price” and builds its own plan from them. Put simply, it learns when you use power and when electricity is cheap, and runs the system around both.

Before you switch it on:

  • Availability. The manual says AI Mode “is available in some countries and regions”, and the screen shows what your system offers. Ask us at handover which modes yours shows.
  • Your tariff. The 2024 manual shows a “Utility Rate Plan” setting, and version 3.4.0 (February 2026) revamped the tariff settings, adding time-of-use multipliers and extra fees. AI Mode can only plan around prices it knows, so make sure the tariff there matches your bill.
  • UK tariff suggestions. Version 4.2.0 added a UK feature that lets SigenAI “recommend an electricity tariff that suits your needs”. It is a tariff suggestion, separate from AI Mode.

SigenAgent: setting goals in plain words

Sigenergy announced SigenAgent in June 2026, delivered through mySigen 4.0 as a software upgrade “with no hardware replacement required”. Instead of working through settings, you state a goal, such as lower bills, more of your own solar used at home or backup kept in reserve, and the AI proposes a strategy.

In the app, that shows up in two places:

  • Personal energy strategies. You describe your energy preferences in everyday language and the AI turns them into a strategy. Since version 4.0.2 you can name strategies and delete expired ones.
  • The AI Assistant. It answers questions, diagnoses issues, explores system insights and controls supported devices through conversation.

Control stays with you. Sigenergy says its Energy Manager acts “only after the user confirms”, and that the user keeps final say through “explicit confirmation of AI-explained strategies”. Read what a strategy will do before you confirm it, especially anything that touches your backup reserve.

Battery levels and backup reserve

The 2024 manual lists three limits that protect the battery and your backup:

  • Charge cut-off. The level at which the battery stops charging.

  • Discharge cut-off. The level at which it stops discharging. Sigenergy advises against setting it to 0, to avoid permanent capacity loss if the battery isn’t charged in time, and its datasheet says a fully discharged battery “must be recharged within 7 days”.

  • Backup capacity. Only where a gateway is fitted. With the grid on, the battery stops discharging at this level, keeping the rest for a power cut. With the grid off, it carries on down to the discharge cut-off.

Sigenergy suggests setting backup capacity by how often your area loses power and how long you’re away. A higher reserve means more cover in a cut but less battery for everyday use. Our guide to the Sigenergy Gateway in a power cut explains what the gateway keeps running, and our page on battery storage sized to your evenings covers how we choose capacity.

Settings to leave to your installer

Some screens hold settings tied to your grid connection. The export limit is one: the installer sets it when the system is created, and the manual says later changes must follow “local laws and regulations and grid agreements”. In practice that is the export your network operator approved, which may have involved a G99 application, something we handle for you. In the 2024 manual, the grid code, the on-grid to off-grid switch points and remote energy management system (EMS) scheduling sit on the same “System Settings” screen.

If a number there looks wrong, ask us rather than changing it, and never open the battery or Energy Controller.

Alarms, diagnostics and support tickets

The 2024 manual puts alarms under “Notice” and the “Service” area, with warranty details under “Warranty”. Recent versions added more:

  • SigenCare (version 3.3.0, December 2025): “6-dimensional diagnostics with intuitive health scores”.
  • Background checks (version 3.4.0): diagnostics and wiring checks run in the background with a history, and you can view historical alarms.
  • Support tickets (version 3.2.2): completed tickets can be reopened within 7 days.

Sigenergy’s warranty makes the app the claim route: you submit a service ticket from the “support” menu of mySigen, which collects details such as the model, serial number and error messages for you. Make the claim within 30 days of the failure date. Sigenergy also asks owners to treat installers as a default service channel, so tell us at the same time. Our fault finding and repairs service covers what we check.

Why the internet connection matters

Keeping the system online matters for the warranty as well as the app. Sigenergy’s July 2026 Europe warranty for SigenStor says that to keep its 10-year limited warranty, the device “must remain connected to the Internet for essential firmware updates”. After more than 90 days offline it enters Safe Operation Mode, and more than a year offline in total cuts the cover to 5 years from activation.

The Energy Controller’s datasheet lists WLAN, Fast Ethernet, RS485 and a Sigen CommMod mobile data module for communication. A few habits help:

  • Changing broadband or router? Tell us first. Where Wi-Fi is the system’s only route online, the manual says switching it to another router is blocked.

  • Use a secured network. Sigenergy warns that a non-encrypted WLAN may lead to internet access failure.

  • On mobile data? The manual says Sigen CommMod users must top up their own 4G data plan after two years.

  • If the app shows offline, check your router first, then call us.

Version 4.0 also added Local O&M, for reaching and diagnosing your devices over a local connection when the internet is down. It helps in an outage, but doesn’t replace a working connection for the warranty.

Getting the most from the Sigenergy app

Once a season, open the app and check:

  • The operating mode is still the one you chose, especially after a tariff change.

  • The tariff in the rate plan matches your bill.

  • The backup reserve suits the time of year and any trips away.

  • The system shows online, with no unread alarms.

Every installation we do includes a year of The Solar Owners Club, with an annual system health check and a dedicated support line, and our post on joining The Solar Owners Club explains what members get. We fit SigenStor for homes around Exeter and across Devon and Cornwall, and at handover we show every owner how to follow their system in the Sigenergy app.

Sigenergy app guide: your questions, answered.

All our FAQs

Yes. Apple's App Store lists mySigen as free, for iPhone and iPad on iOS 15.5 or later, and it is on Google Play for Android phones too. Your owner account comes from the installer when the system is created in the app.

Sigenergy's April 2024 installer manual says Sigen AI Mode is available in some countries and regions, and that the screen display prevails, so check what your app shows. The app's October 2026 update added SigenAI tariff recommendations in the UK, a separate feature from AI Mode. Ask us at handover what yours offers.

Version 4.0 added Local O&M, which Sigenergy says lets you access, diagnose and maintain your devices over a local connection when internet access is unavailable. Keep the system online in normal use, though, because Sigenergy's 10-year warranty depends on it.

Leave it to your installer. The export limit is set when the system is created, and Sigenergy's manual says any later change must follow local laws and regulations and grid agreements, which means what your network operator approved.

Submit a service ticket from the support menu in mySigen, which gathers details such as the model, serial number and error messages for you. Sigenergy asks for claims within 30 days of the failure date and treats installers as a default service channel, so tell us too.
