Sigenergy’s SigenStor brings a solar inverter, battery and energy management together in one modular system. It is our premium option. As a Sigenergy installer, our own team designs each system around how you use electricity and fits it across Devon and Cornwall, from our base near Okehampton. If another system would suit you better, we’ll say so.

What Sigenergy’s SigenStor is
SigenStor stacks the five parts in the table above as one unit, and you choose how many battery modules to start with: each adds the usable storage shown there, in kilowatt-hours (kWh).
We recommend SigenStor where it suits how you use electricity, for example a household that uses much of its power in the evening and expects to want more storage later. Home battery storage keeps unused daytime solar electricity for the evening. The right system. Not the biggest one.
- Inverter: an Energy Controller to suit your supply, single-phase or three-phase, in one of the sizes in the table above.
- Backup: the Sigen Energy Gateway, where backup power is included and suitable.
With your solar
How SigenStor works with solar panels
With new solar panels for your home, the panels connect to the Energy Controller, which is the system’s solar inverter. Sigenergy states that its single-phase controllers support solar panel capacity of up to twice their rated output, useful when we design panels and battery together.
If you already have panels, the equipment you have decides what fits; our page on adding a battery to existing solar covers our approach. Two routes:
- A Sigen Hybrid Inverter already fitted: Sigenergy says its owners can add Sigen Battery at any time.
- Solar from another maker: we check what you have first, and tell you plainly whether SigenStor suits it.
The warranty
What Sigenergy’s warranty covers
There are two warranties, and they cover different things. Sigenergy’s product warranty covers the equipment; our own 10-year workmanship warranty covers the installation work our team does. Sigenergy publishes its factory warranty for Europe, and because cover depends on the system staying online, a reliable internet connection matters.

Survey to aftercare
How we design, fit and look after it
It starts with a free site survey and a no-obligation quote. We look at your roof’s orientation, shading and space, and you can send us a copy of your electricity bill. We then design it in Easy PV Pro, the solar photovoltaic (PV) design tool we use, setting the number of panels and the battery options around your use.
Our own DBS-checked installation team fits it, and homes usually take one to three days. Your system may need approval from National Grid before we can connect it. This is called a G99 application. We handle the application for you and keep you updated while we wait for their response. At handover, we show you how the system works and how to follow it in the app.
Every installation includes one year of The Solar Owners Club, so our support continues after the installation team leaves:
- an annual system health check
- a dedicated support line, through The Hub, WhatsApp, web chat and email
- discounted upgrade products and fixed, discounted rates for labour

We are not loyal to a box. At the survey we look at your roof, your supply and your evenings, and recommend the maker whose equipment suits them.

Yes. Solar Upgrades Ltd, at Allerford Farm, Okehampton, is listed as an “Authorized Installer” in Find an Installer, the map on Sigenergy’s website, and you can search it yourself.
Yes. Sigenergy allows one to six battery modules per Energy Controller, and says the optimiser in each pack lets older and newer packs work together. We size the first stage to your electricity use now.
Only if backup is part of the design. Sigenergy’s 0 ms backup switchover needs the Sigen Energy Gateway alongside the battery and Energy Controller. Backup power is possible where it’s included and suitable, and we’ll tell you plainly whether yours can.
